August Founder's Message
We're honored to have been accepted into Opportunity U Cohort VI, a program organized by Port Houston, alongside 30 other local companies. This is the latest initiative PRISM is undertaking as part of our active pursuit to work on public sector projects and partner with firms seeking minority participation.
Opportunity U is a 10-week comprehensive training designed to support and assist local S/MWBE vendors. This initiative is a game-changer, helping businesses like ours better compete for and participate in Port Houston procurements, grow to become preferred contractors and leverage opportunities beyond Port Houston. The program benefits are immense, including developing solid business foundations, positioning businesses to learn about and bid on government contracts, strengthening the ability to secure access to capital, allowing businesses to meet key decision-makers at Port Houston, and receiving mentoring from experienced professionals.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Port Houston's Supplier Diversity Manager, Brenda Ruiz, and Business Equity Training Coordinator, Laroria Reid-Seymour, for their expertly orchestrated sessions. I've also enjoyed meeting and learning from my cohort's other entrepreneurs and leaders. Their contributions are invaluable and deeply appreciated.
