Growing home
Location, location, location. Earlier this year, Parkway Fellowship Church in Katy, Texas snagged an affordable 14-acre parcel in the heart of Old Katy. And now a capital campaign is in high gear to build a new campus to increase their reach into the explosive growth happening around them. With a new Worship Center and Children's Ministry Building, Parkway Fellowship is planting the seeds for Legacy. It is their gift in the present to shape the future of God’s expanded kingdom in Katy. StudioRed Architects designed the project and tapped PRISM to develop their vision into renderings for the capital campaign.
Since Parkway Fellowship acquired the site at Morton Rd. and Avenue D., Katy ISD announced plans to open four new schools within six miles. Johnson Development announced a massive new 1,100-acre masterplanned community that will be within two miles. The move will also allow the congregation to move out of leased space and into a permanent home with room for expansion. There will be a new Worship Center with a large lobby/reception area bathed in natural light, plus classrooms. A new Children’s Ministry Building will have classrooms for the kids and also for kids with special needs, plus a large adjacent outdoor play area. The congregation hopes to open the new building in August 2024. According to Pastor Adam Jungeblut, the new campus “isn’t about the sticks and bricks, it is about Jesus’ promise to His people.”
