Cheers to the new year!

Whether you ate black-eyed peas, made a champagne toast, or vowed THIS is the year you’ll keep that one resolution, January is traditionally the time for starting with a clean slate and planning for the year ahead. The PRISM team recently finalized our goals and plan for 2017. We refined our Core Values, which influence our daily operations and every decision we make. We hope to continue working with more like-minded clients and partners in the coming year. PRISM Core Values:

  • Integrity - in our work, in our word
  • Professionalism - respectful, consultative, relatable
  • Servant Attitude - end-user focused, kind, giving, considerate
  • Balance - efficiency in work/life, fulfillment in both
  • Learning - always seeking and sharing our knowledge

We wish you all the best and look forward to connecting soon!

New home for A.D. Players

2017 promises to be quite a year for Houston’s A.D. Players. The theatre company will celebrate their 50th anniversary and move into their highly anticipated new home near the Galleria. The new performance venue has a 440-seat mainstage theater, double the seats from the old theatre. The mainstage is modeled after Shakespeare’s original Globe Theatre, to give attendees a more intimate experience. A.D. Players founder and Golden Globe-nominated actress, Jeannette Clift George, aptly sums up what her design intent was for the new building, “Where there is theatre, there is community. There is heritage. There is hope. And there is an invitation for the human spirit to soar.” A.D. Players has a fantastic lineup of family-friendly performances planned this year, with the season beginning on February 12th. John Gabriel of Gabriel Architects captured George’s vision in the facility. He recently led a tour for Rice Design Alliance members. PRISM worked with Gabriel to produce the renderings used in the capital campaign for the new theatre. The photo to the left is a snapshot from the tour; it is the same view of the lobby shown in the rendering at the top of the newsletter. Studio Red assisted with the theatre design. The tour was the perfect opportunity for PRISM to become an RDA corporate member. We hope to see you soon at an upcoming event!

New year - round 2

January 28 starts the Chinese Spring Festival known as Chinese New Year. 2017 is the year of the Fire Rooster! Fire Roosters have the admirable traits of being trustworthy, punctual and responsible (especially at work). Employers, get ready for a productive year! I will again be traveling to China to visit family and friends for this occasion, one of the biggest holidays in Asian culture. Additionally, the PRISM production team will be on holiday break until February 5 in observance of Chinese New Year. Our project managers are available to discuss your project and collect design information, so we can start your project promptly on February 6.
