Right time for retail renovations in FL
Grocery prices have been in the news a lot recently. Yet according to the July 2024 report from ICSC, grocery store visits increased 7.6% year over year in Q2 of 2024. Reef Plaza in Lauderdale Lake, FL is anticipating the trend will continue. Owner Dacar Management is adding a new ground-up Publix grocery store on one corner of the strip center, plus a new standalone Chase Bank. The additions are part of a larger improvement project being designed by LA Architects. The firm leaned on PRISM Renderings to communicate the project scope through several rendering views to obtain site approval from the local jurisdiction.
All attached buildings in the center are slated to get facelifts with new entrance canopies and exterior façades. Much of the parking will be reconfigured with new landscaping around it, along with new site lighting. Along the west side of the site, there will be a new dedicated deceleration lane that will double as the bus lane for a relocated bus stop. Dacar is coordinating with the city and Florida Department of Transportation (FLDOT) to complete this scope of work in conjunction with the broader renovations at the center. Construction is tentatively scheduled to begin in early 2025. PRISM’s renderings are serving double duty for this project. Not only will they be instrumental to secure site approval, they will also be useful marketing tools to showcase the new site access and enhanced aesthetics.
