September Founder's Message
Last week, I had three revealing conversations. A principal at a major architectural firm shared that they handle most 3D renderings in-house. A young architect from a different firm that I know resigned, frustrated by spending too much time on renderings instead of design and growth. Finally, a developer client was unhappy with the architectural firm’s rendering quality and asked if we could step in to help.
This story is all too common. I've repeatedly heard: "We used to have this young architect who could produce nice renderings, BUT he's no longer with the firm." Two key opportunity costs emerge from these scenarios:
1. Losing young architects: High rendering workloads push talented designers away, limiting their growth.
2. Delaying the path to leadership: Time spent on tasks like rendering slows the development of young architects into Project Architects or Project Managers. With labor costs being the highest operating expense for architectural firms and attrition only adding to this, the potential for cost savings and talent retention through collaboration with specialized firms like PRISM is significant. By working with us, firms can reduce team burnout, retain talent, and gain access to a dedicated, experienced visualization team.
If you're a firm leader curious about the cost comparison between maintaining in-house renderings and working with PRISM, I'd love to hear from you. Let's discuss how we can help elevate your design process and free up your architects for what they do best.
