Winning West Palm’s housing race
Keeping eyes on the prize, Tortoise One opened this month on a prime piece of real estate in West Palm Beach, Florida. Developer Tortoise Properties acquired the property with approvals already in place for two 8-story multifamily buildings. Working with MSA Architects, Inc., Tortoise revised the whole development to be a connected luxury compound.
The two buildings will be joined by a floor-to-ceiling glass skybridge and have 3,425 SF of lifestyle retail and hospitality offerings on the ground floor. Residents can retreat to the expansive sun deck and resort-style pool, surrounded by a covered outdoor lounge, summer kitchen, and a yoga lawn. The two towers offer 264 Class-A apartments and a 4-story parking garage. The 2.5 acre site fronts North Dixie Highway and is just two blocks from the Intracoastal Waterway and less than 1.5 miles from the golden sands of Palm Beach. PRISM produced seven exterior renderings that MSA used for critical communications with local officials to garner approvals, and for marketing purposes. Verdex Construction was the general contractor.
Each apartment exemplifies refined elegance, with elevated contemporary finishes and private balconies with sweeping views. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood units with natural light. Every unit includes a high-efficiency washer and dryer, a wireless-controlled smart thermostat, and secure keyless entry. Shared amenities include private workspaces, pet washing stations, social clubrooms and lounges, a meditative lounge, a high-end fitness center, and a rooftop professional pickleball court. There are also four electric car charging stations, and Tortoise One is seamlessly connected to the city via the Circuit, an electric shuttle that serves the surrounding area.
