As we continue the momentum into the new year, we’re reflecting on some incredible events our team has had the privilege to be part of recently. From groundbreaking celebrations to meaningful community engagements, these experiences remind us of the importance of connection, collaboration, and giving back. Here’s a recap:
Kirby Ice House – Heights Groundbreaking The much-anticipated Kirby Ice House – Heights has officially broken ground! This fourth location is already setting records, featuring the longest bar in Texas at an impressive 146 feet and a 24,000-square-foot space split evenly between indoor and outdoor areas. We were thrilled to be included in the festivities and celebrate this milestone. O'Donnell/Snider Construction hosted a fantastic event with delicious bites and drinks. A special treat for us was seeing our rendering work showcased—on a cookie! Cheers to Kirby Ice House and the talented teams behind this project. We’re excited to see the final results and look forward to the grand opening later this year.
Bisnow Houston 2025 Market Kickoff Deborah had the pleasure of attending the Bisnow Houston 2025 Market Kickoff, where industry visionaries shared inspiring stories of success. From building meaningful relationships to navigating challenges with calculated risks, these leaders left her energized and reminded of the resilience and passion that drive our industry forward.
CoreNet Global Houston Chapter Luncheon Deborah also attended the CoreNet Global Houston Chapter’s first luncheon of the year, featuring economic insights from Pat Janikowski, Chief Economist for the Greater Houston Partnership. Pat’s “crystal ball” predictions affirmed the resilience of Houston’s economy and its promising outlook for 2025. The event was a fantastic way to connect with peers and gain valuable perspectives on the opportunities ahead.
Blessings in a Backpack with DBIA Southwest Region Giving back is always rewarding, and Deborah had the opportunity to join the Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) Southwest Region’s Blessings in a Backpack initiative. Thanks so much to hostess Cheryl Newman Diamond of Corgan for the invitation. The event brought together a fantastic turnout to pack snack bags for students, accompanied by heartfelt stories from Cheryl about the joy these small surprises bring to kids. It was an honor to participate in such a meaningful gesture that makes a difference in students' lives.
ACE Mentor Program Guest Speakers The ACE Mentor Program introduces high school students to careers in Architecture, Construction, and Engineering, and we were thrilled to contribute to this impactful initiative. Jing and Mindy, Project Manager, served as guest speakers for Session 9: 3D Modeling and Visualization hosted virtually due to the wintry weather that moved through Houston. They shared insights on how these tools drive innovation, along with case studies demonstrating their value. A big thank you to Animesh Gupta of Jacobs and Osman Herrera of eStudio Architecture for their dedication to the program and for inviting us to inspire the next generation of industry professionals. We’re honored to support the program and its incredible students.
REDnews Houston Retail and Restaurant Summit Deborah attended the REDnews Houston Retail and Restaurant Summit, which highlighted the stability of the retail market and key industry trends. Panels explored creative new uses for vacant big-box spaces, the rise of experiential tenants, the importance of value-driven retailers, and the growing emphasis on sustainability. The event was filled with engaging discussions, valuable networking opportunities, and some crispy bacon to start the day right!
