Help us wish a very Happy Birthday to Deborah Gross, our incredible VP of Business Development! Her talent for building genuine relationships, spreading positivity, and embracing challenges with an adventurous spirit inspires us all. Here’s to another year of success and leadership. We can't wait to see what she’ll accomplish in the year ahead!
Last week, I had three revealing conversations. A principal at a major architectural firm shared that they handle most 3D renderings in-house. A young architect from a different firm that I know resigned, frustrated by spending too much time on renderings instead of design and growth. Finally, a developer client was unhappy with the architectural firm’s rendering quality and asked if we could step in to help.
Grocery prices have been in the news a lot recently. Yet according to the July 2024 report from ICSC, grocery store visits increased 7.6% year over year in Q2 of 2024. Reef Plaza in Lauderdale Lake, FL is anticipating the trend will continue. Owner Dacar Management is adding a new ground-up Publix grocery store on one corner of the strip center, plus a new standalone Chase Bank. The additions are part of a larger improvement project being designed by LA Architects. The firm leaned on PRISM Renderings to communicate the project scope through several rendering views to obtain site approval from the local jurisdiction.
Attending the Harris Health System Social MWBE Collaboration Meeting was truly exciting. Jing was inspired to learn from the project leadership team about the economic development plans for Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital and the 1.3 million square foot campus expansion. As a City of Houston Certified MBE and WBE, PRISM welcomes the opportunity to partner with firms pursuing this project.
As a proud Gerald Hines College of Architecture alumna, Jing loves to be back on campus and contribute to university projects. The University of Houston Large Construction Meeting at the Student Center South had a fantastic turnout! Jing enjoyed learning about the exciting upcoming projects, engaging with the Capital Projects group and HUB program staff, and connecting with fellow industry professionals. Go Coogs!

We're honored to have been accepted into Opportunity U Cohort VI, a program organized by Port Houston, alongside 30 other local companies. The Texas Society of Architects (TxA) Annual Conference and Design Expo is coming back to Houston! It’s been 10 years, and we are ready for it. The photo above is from the last time in Houston—don’t we all look a little younger? This conference is the single best place for anyone involved in architecture to learn, connect, and grow.
